The Vice President for Administration and Finance serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the College and in that role will develop and maintain the strategic and tactical financial structures, controls, and processes necessary to manage the college in conformance with accreditation standards and industry best practices. Primary responsibilities include maintaining fiscal integrity and stability of the College through proper preparation and administration of the College budget; accounting; procurement; student financial services; facilities planning, construction, and operations; human resources services and employee relations; institutional technology; risk management; public safety and security; and health services. The Vice President for Administration and Finance also provides strategic guidance, consultation, and support to senior College administrators and other members of upper management on a comprehensive range of issues involved in carrying out the mission of the institution.
The Vice President for Administration and Finance is an exempt senior management level position, directly reporting to the College President. All financial staff as well as Human Resources, Payroll, Information Technology, Plant Operations and Public Safety report to this position.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with diverse populations. The Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and External Relations oversees three strategic areas for SUNY Ulster, all focusing on building resources and increasing awareness of and advocacy for the institution to enable the College to accomplish its mission. Leading and managing the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc., the College’s public relations strategy and alumni relations, this position reports directly to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent meets regularly with department leaders and faculty and is considered to be part of the institution’s senior management team. The Executive Director is expected to represent the College at a variety of community events that may include evenings or weekends.

The Foundation’s Executive Director is responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and evaluation of activities that will attract important philanthropic support for the College. These activities include developing and implementing effective strategies and tactics that result in sustainable growth in annual giving and planned gifts, capturing the philanthropic interest of donors, and increasing corporate support. As Executive Director, this position maintains a close and collaborative working relationship with the Board of Directors of the Foundation, the President, Vice President, and Deans. Specific activities include identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts; proactively building and maintaining relationships with new, current, and potential donors; and leading and managing staff to achieve all fundraising initiatives, including donor recognition, special campaigns, and events. The Executive Director oversees the College’s scholarship program and a planned giving program, and provides opportunities to potential donors that maximize donor intent as it relates to institutional objectives. He/she oversees gift processing, acknowledgement, and stewardship as well as fiscal and accounting policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with all regulatory oversight requirements.
This position is a key team member and collaborator providing public and media relations strategic planning, counsel, and ongoing support campus-wide including, but not limited to, communications strategy, planning, messaging, media outreach and story placement. Specific activities include developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key regional, local, and industry trade news media and leading and overseeing all aspects of media relations, including story development, media targeting, relationship management, and securing media opportunities for spokespeople. The Executive Director is expected to contribute to the College’s social media strategy, secure in-person opportunities for the College to present to community and business leaders, and assist with the development and implementation of communication to faculty and staff.
The Executive Director develops, implements and evaluates programs to engage the institution’s alumni and to encourage increased alumni support of and involvement with College programs. This includes oversight of the development and implementation of an alumni strategic plan and robust alumni relations programs, events and recognition ceremonies. The Executive Director oversees the coordination of alumni communications and publications related to fundraising and alumni relations activities in collaboration with colleagues. These communications include newsletters, social media, targeted emails, and other outreach as needed.
In addition, the Executive Director plans and administers the budget of Institutional Advancement to ensure operation within fiscal constraints. The Executive Director works strategically, as well as tactically, to achieve desired results. The incumbent must be media savvy, an excellent writer and experienced in executing media and social media campaigns. He/she has a track record of media success and measuring results.
The Executive Director must have superb written and oral communication skills; be comfortable presenting in large, small and diverse groups; and possess excellent motivational skills. He/she must have an engaging manner; strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate colleagues and volunteers; the ability to develop trust and build strong collaborative working relationships; a proven track record of success in cultivating, soliciting, and securing funding and a proven ability in managing communications functions; a communication style that is open, cordial and issues focused; experience in goal setting and team building; and experience utilizing technology to further the philanthropic goals of the organization. This person must possess a commitment to continuous improvement, employing best practices and assessment to review and enhance results.

The Administrative Services and Payroll Assistant reports to the Vice President for
Administrative Services and the Human Resources and Payroll Specialist, and is responsible

High School diploma and two (2) years administrative support experience. The Outreach and Program Navigator provides outreach support to the College to recruit workforce students for advanced technology and healthcare programs and to coordinate promotion and entry into these programs. This position is grant funded through August 31, 2025. This grant funded position will provide targeted outreach in the community and will support students in the onboarding process to create a seamless entry into the program.

The College Preparation Math Literacy Coordinator shall have responsibility for all non-credit, college preparation math literacy programs including the New Start Math and Digital Literacy Preparation Program, GED math, and preparation for technician certification programs in multiple industries. The College Preparation Math Literacy Coordinator will also serve as the lead instructor for all non-credit college preparation math courses and coordinate part-time math instructors in these programs. Under general direction from the Dean of Enrollment Services and Student Affairs, the Enrollment and Success Counselor is responsible for the full range of general counseling responsibilities including providing guidance and advice to the students to achieve their academic, career and/or personal goals.

The Coordinator for the Mid-Hudson Traffic Safety Institute is responsible for the day to day administration and program coordination of non-credit programs and project grants related to Highway Safety and Injury Prevention. The Coordinator is responsible for all related grants and their deliverables. Duties include designing, grant writing, reporting, staffing, monitoring, evaluating facilitating and promoting highway and traffic safety/injury prevention courses with businesses and community organizations. The position is currently completely grant funded. The Coordinator: Mid-Hudson Traffic Safety Institute will report to the Vice President for Workforce, Economic Development, and Community Partnerships. Employment of position is based on Grant Fund availability.
Two or more years of experience in project management, higher education, community development, or human services. Good writing and presentation skills. Ability to utilize and analyze data. Experience related to community safety training is a plus.

The Nursing Laboratory Coordinator for the Skills Lab and Simulation Lab is a 12-month OPAP Level IV position that will plan, operate, coordinate, and oversee the nursing skills lab and simulation related to the Associate Degree Nursing program. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Nursing Department Chairperson and Nursing faculty and other health program faculty to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation lab and skills lab facilities.
The Coordinator will also assist the Nursing Department Chairperson or Clinical Coordinator with student clinical compliance.

Maintains primary responsibility for the daily operation of the Nursing Simulation Center.
Assist and support in simulation and clinical activities in the Simulation Center and Nursing Skills Laboratory.

Provides collaboration with all internal and external constituents of the College.

Experience:

Licensure:

The Assistant to Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and External Relations serves as an integral member of the professional staff within the office who supports and reports directly to the Executive Director.
